SANATANA DHARMA

Image
Sanathana is a Sanskrit word that means Anadi (beginningless). Sanathana further means timeless and beyond the time dimension.   Its suitable meaning is something natural and which is eternal. It further implies that it was there, it is there and it will be there forever.  It has no beginning or end. Dharma is from the Sanskrit word  'dhri', which means to hold together, to sustain. It further means truth based on righteous conduct, integrity and harmony in the Universe and about the affairs of life. Dharma represents the character, rights, duties,  religion,  customs, and all behavior considered righteous and morally reputable. It further means that Dharma  is in accordance with Nature, moral, ethical, pious, lawful, etc., Thus Sanathana  Dharma  means "the natural, ancient and eternal way". Dharma  otherwise called Vaidika Dharma , which is the original name of what is now we generally call  Hinduism or Hindu Dharma.  Hinduism is considered

CHARITY

Image
Charity means voluntarily helping those in need as a humanitarian act by giving money, goods, etc., to the poor and needy either directly or through a Trust or Organization. Most forms of charity are concerned with providing basic necessities such as food, water, clothing, health care, shelter, education, etc., Charity  further means sharing what we have earned honestly and ethically with others. It is praised as the greatest virtue in Hindu Dharma.   Real happiness results from giving and not from receiving.  It is our Dharma to give charity and serve the poor and needy in any way possible.  In Bhagavath Githa Lord Krishna , in Chapter 17 verses  20, 21, and 22 taught us about what Charity means:           20:-  datayam iti yad danam diyate  nupakarine deshe kale cha patre cha tad danam  satvikam   smritam.                           Charity is given  to a worthy person simply because it is right to give without expecting in return,

MASCHARYA(JEALOUSY)

Image
Mascharya is a feeling of jealousy when someone else gets ahead of us or possesses things of value that we don't have. It is a state of intolerance born by seeing good qualities in others. It is a strong emotion that can break any strong relationship. It is a feeling of unhappiness and anger because someone has something which you cannot possess or someone that you want.  It is all about not accepting good qualities in others and is one of the six bad vices.  Mascharya (jealousy) is a form of hatred built upon insecurity and is classified as a mental disease. God does not like people having jealousy in their minds.  Arjuna became dearer to Lord Srikrishna, as the former is devoid of Mascharya(jealousy). In Bhagavat Gjitha  Chapter 9 Verse 1, Lord Srikrishna says to Arjuna as follows: idam tu te guhyatamam pravakshyamy anasuyave Jnanam vijana sahitam  yat   jnatva  mokshyase shubhat Because you are not jealous I shall now explain to you the greatest of all secrets.

MADHA ( PRIDE)

Image
MADHA(PRIDE/EGO) is the root of all evil and one of the six bad vices viz., Kama(Desire), Krodha( Anger), Lobha(Greed), Moha(Attachment), Madha(Pride) and Mascharya( Jealous).  It is a  conceited attitude or way of behaving.  Due to the predominance of the three Gunas i.e., Satvic, Rajasic and Tamasic,  its nature varies from person to person.  In Pride,  Rajas Guna predominates and true spiritual progress cannot be achieved. A  pride person has an excessive self-image, feels different from others, is too interested in appearance and proud of his abilities. He feels too confident and does not show enough respect for other people. A feeling that he is better or more important than others,  acts as a hurdle when one tries to have a positive relationship with him. When viewed as a virtue,  it is known as virtuous pride about the greatness of his soul or generosity, but when viewed as a vice it is often known to be self-praising about one's own achievements, feeling

Who is Sadguru?

Image
Generally, everyone knows about Teacher/Lecturer, who educates the pupils. He teaches the knowledge of the subjects like English, Hindi, Science, Social, Maths, etc., But it is far away from the knowledge of spirituality and to know about God. He teaches about the activities in this realistic world, viz., the style of living and how to behave in the society. He teaches us how to make ourselves a perfect human being to live in society.  Whereas Guru gives us Gyan (knowledge) about God, and about spirituality. He teaches us the process to attain God or Almighty by his divine speeches or advice. Guru teaches us not only how to live life in this world but also life after death. A person who has a healthy body, wealth, fame, good family and abundant knowledge of Scriptures, epics, Vedas and Upanishads and he himself a great writer of scriptures but he has not surrendered himself at the feet of a Guru, then he has achieved nothing.  Sri Ramchandra Maharaj, founder of Sahaj

MOHA(DELUSION)

Image
Moha(Delusion) is a  state of mind which does not permit scope for discrimination. It is ignorant of the true facts and is the origin of egoism. It is one of the six bad vices and prevents one from knowing the truth and makes one addict to the gratification of sensual pleasures and makes us run after the material enjoyment. This can cause any misery in one's life and binds the soul to the process of birth and death.  The main obstacle for one's spiritual heritage causing him to lose knowledge of his true being is Moha(Delusion). This internal enemy drags the humans form all the sides away from the soul and makes life miserable. Lord Srikrishna, in Bhagavath Githa in Chapter.16 verse 16,  cautions us about the effect of Moha ( Delusion).  " Aneka - chitta - vibhrantah  moha-jala  samavritah prasanth kama - bhogeshu  patani matale shuchau" . Possessed and led astray by such imaginings enveloped in Moha( Delusion), a

LOBHA(GREED)

Image
LOBHA(Greed ) is one of the six bad vices viz., Kama( desire/passion), Krodha(anger), Lobha ( greed), Moha(bondage), Mada( ego), and Mascharya( jealous).  It literally means greed.  It is the excessive desire, especially the desire to appropriate to oneself what belongs to others that too against the principles of Dharma. It is an endless sickness.  It is the condition of the mind in which one is not satisfied even after possessing what one wants.  Sometimes it tempts people to do unethical, illegal, and immoral things in the pursuit of earning more money.  The absence of contentment even after having acquired the object of desire means the individual is greedy. Here is a story, how a greedy person without contentment in life transformed into a great Donar and Devotee by the grace of God. Purandara Dasa was born in a Madhwa Brahmin Community in a village near Kshemapura,  near Thirthahalli in Karnataka State.  His parents named him Srinivasa Nayaka. A

KRODHA(ANGER)

Image
Krodha(Anger) m eans a  strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility.   Fear and sadness are primary emotions before one gets Anger. It is a  strong emotion we experience when we think someone has done wrong. Anger(Krodh) is an excessive mental turmoil on account of the obstacles in the gratification of some desire.   It is an unpleasant emotion that does more harm to the giver than to the receiver. It is one of the six bad vices viz., Kama(desire/passion), Krodha(Anger ), Lobha(greed), Moha(bondage), Mada(ego), and Mastsarya(jealousy).  Man acquires  Kama and Krodha by birth. These are inborn qualities and cannot be wiped off completely because they are necessary for every human being to eke out his livelihood,  but can be controlled to a  possible extent while leading a pious life. In Bhagavath  Githa Lord Sri Krishna described  Anger in Chap. 2 verse 63:- Krodhad bhavati sammohah - sammohat smrti  vibhramaha                                    smrti

HONESTY

Image
HONESTY  means to be fair and straightforward in conduct or strict adherence to the facts. It further means to be truthful in all aspects of life.  It involves not telling lies, never hurt anyone through bad habits, activities, or behavior. Honesty makes a person free of all troubles and to be fearless. Being honest helps a person to get the trust of all in the surrounding, a lot of happiness, blessings from Supreme Power, and many more things. An honest person never gets involved in activities that are morally wrong. Being honest is really very beneficial in the real life.  It is not a thing which one can buy or sell; it is a good habit that can be obtained through practice only.    Honesty leads a person towards an auspicious path that gives real happiness and joy.  A person can be honest only when he/she follows honesty in various aspects of life,  such as honest in speaking, honest in the workplace, honest in doing justice, honest in behavior, and

PEACEFUL AND HAPPY LIFE.

Image
Peace of mind is a mental state of calmness or tranquility, and freedom from worry and anxiety.  The desire of every human being and the goal of every prayer is peace of mind. It is a beautiful gift, which only we can give to ourselves just by expecting nothing from anyone. There is no real wealth in this world than peace of mind.    A happy life is all about the art of balancing our relationship with all the family members,  relatives, and friends. It can only be found if we can free ourselves of all other distractions. For every minute of being angry, we lose the same amount of happiness in our life.  It is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, kindness, and gratitude. It will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they already have. We won't get real happiness from what we get, but it comes from what we give to others and other living beings.  Feeling some positive emotions every day has a big effect on our happiness and well-bei

Substance of Bhagavadgita in brief

Image
The experience of happiness and distress in life are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons,  tolerate them without being disturbed. For the soul, there is neither birth nor death nor it cannot be destroyed. It is everlasting and imperishable. He who dwells in the body is eternal and can never be killed.  Why you cry that you may lose something.? What did you bring with you, which you think you are losing now? What did you create your own,  which you think now that it is being destroyed?  You came with empty hands, you will leave with empty hands only.  Whatever is going to happen will definitely happen.  It is God's will. Don't  worry about it unnecessarily Be like a sage, who is not disturbed in spite of miseries nor delighted when there is happiness, free from attachment, fear, and anger. Be free from desires, devoid of false ego, and then alone you attain Real Happiness. Do your prescribed duty for the sake of God and free from

IMPORTANCE OF YOGA AND MEDITATION

Image
The food we take is to be digested and the undigested food if any shall come out as excreta from our body after 24 hours, otherwise we fell sick. The excess water we drink shall come out within 4 hours, otherwise, we fell sick. The air we breathe in shall come out within one minute, otherwise, we fell sick. As such, Anger, Hatred, Jealous, etc., are within us years together. What will happen if they dwell in our bodies like that?  We become sick permanently. That is why our great saints say that we the fools feel that we are living daily....in fact, we are dying to some extent day by day. If our age increases what we presume....  is our life span increases or decreases? We have to necessarily accept the bitter fact that we are dying daily to some more extent from these negative energies. Anger, stress, hatred, laziness, etc, which are within us and not leaving us are making our lives deadly. The only way to give Prana Sakthi( Vital energy) to our body is Yoga and Med
