MADHA ( PRIDE)

Image
MADHA(PRIDE/EGO) is the root of all evil and one of the six bad vices viz., Kama(Desire), Krodha( Anger), Lobha(Greed), Moha(Attachment), Madha(Pride) and Mascharya( Jealous).  It is a  conceited attitude or way of behaving.  Due to the predominance of the three Gunas i.e., Satvic, Rajasic and Tamasic,  its nature varies from person to person.  In Pride,  Rajas Guna predominates and true spiritual progress cannot be achieved. A  pride person has an excessive self-image, feels different from others, is too interested in appearance and proud of his abilities. He feels too confident and does not show enough respect for other people. A feeling that he is better or more important than others,  acts as a hurdle when one tries to have a positive relationship with him. When viewed as a virtue,  it is known as virtuous pride about the greatness of his soul or generosity, but when viewed as a vice it is often known to be self-praising about one's own achievements, feeling

Who is Sadguru?

Generally, everyone knows about Teacher/Lecturer, who educates the pupils. He teaches the knowledge of the subjects like English, Hindi, Science, Social, Maths, etc., But it is far away from the knowledge of spirituality and to know about God. He teaches about the activities in this realistic world, viz., the style of living and how to behave in the society. He teaches us how to make ourselves a perfect human being to live in society.  Whereas Guru gives us Gyan (knowledge) about God, and about spirituality. He teaches us the process to attain God or Almighty by his divine speeches or advice. Guru teaches us not only how to live life in this world but also life after death. A person who has a healthy body, wealth, fame, good family and abundant knowledge of Scriptures, epics, Vedas and Upanishads and he himself a great writer of scriptures but he has not surrendered himself at the feet of a Guru, then he has achieved nothing.  Sri Ramchandra Maharaj, founder of Sahaj

It is one of the six bad vices and prevents one from knowing the truth and makes one addict to the gratification of sensual pleasures and makes us run after the material enjoyment. This can cause any misery in one's life and binds the soul to the process of birth and death.  The main obstacle for one's spiritual heritage causing him to lose knowledge of his true being is Moha(Delusion). This internal enemy drags the humans form all the sides away from the soul and makes life miserable. Lord Srikrishna, in Bhagavath Githa in Chapter.16 verse 16,  cautions us about the effect of Moha ( Delusion).  " Aneka - chitta - vibhrantah  moha-jala  samavritah prasanth kama - bhogeshu  patani matale shuchau" . Possessed and led astray by such imaginings enveloped in Moha( Delusion), a
